Stop Motion

Our music video will include stop motion as it fits in well with the Ellie Goulding song we have chosen and with the idea that stop motion is surreal and we can do anything we like in the video without feeling likeit has to be realistic.

This video shows a simple way of how to create stop motion. This talks through the basic skills and conventions of a stop motion, however ours will be on a higher more challenging scale with real life people and object in. We want to create a flowing stop motion which has a frame rate that isnt too fast or slow and is kept mainly the same pace throughout. The stop motion will fit in time with the Ellie Goulding song which is medium pace and at the right pace we want our motion to be at. Stop motion is quite challenging and time consuming so we will have to manage our time well and plan every detail before we start filming to save time and give us a clear idea of how were are getting our stop motion to work.
We are also debating as a group whether to make the whole video in stop motion or with some live motion in aswell. I think we may decide whilst filming due to timing and how successful the video is looking.
We have also disscussed whiether to film the video all in live motion and take out frames during the editing process. However we have probably decided against this as we have tried this before in our thriller and found this time consuming and maybe not as slick and smooth as the effect we would get through stop motion.
